UT Student Painting offers:
Our success as a painting company is due to our service, care, and attention to detail that we put in every job. Honestly, you don't need one if you want to paint because almost everyone can paint, interior painting, that is. Exterior painting, does still seem to be something most people want to hire out. Interior painting, it sort of seems to be the norm these days though doesn't it? House painting Austin, style, that is- as in changing colors often and adding accent walls. Many opt to do this themselves and for this reason we enjoy providing "how to videos", but those small jobs don't always stay small do they? We can't all do those wood floor laminate projects, tile our own counters, etc., and if you don’t like heights or climbing ladders, painting can be a little intimidating and a qualified,Austin house painter, or,handyman, can make all the difference. UT Student Painting, house painting austin, and you- Read on and visit our pages to see how we can help protect and beautify your home on those projects where you want to hire a professional to do the job right.
When a job turns into more than you can handle or say is,exterior painting, this could be one place where having a qualified painting contractor like UT Student Painting do the job is a better idea than trying to tackle the project yourself. A qualified painter can safely and quickly complete the job for you. Most, handyman services, can too, but not all. Thinking about a larger project, maybe a,remodel, or additon? Check with us first. I have built houses and done major projects (one of my favorites is a historic ,remodel, I did in Houston several years ago) but sometimes I can't get to each and every, remodel, and the company I recommend are the guys over at Contractors, Austin Texas LLC, http://www.contractorsaustintexas.com/ if for some reason we are unable to meet your needs, remodel, or otherwise.
When it comes to,house painting Austin,UT Student Painting is the number one house painter to trust. The reason you want to paint your home is to keep it in good repair and maintain appearances, but if the paint job is bad or the materials used are inferior, you won’t be happy with the end results. Anyone can paint but to do any of the following, remodel,sheet-rock repair,sheet-rock texture, wood repair, exterior painting or let's say any type of remodel (that involve, you know- moving parts of the house), I'd suggest a qualified Austin house painter (UT Student Painting comes to mind) or a handyman. I'd try the painters and qualified, handyman, in your area before looking through contractor services as they tend to cost you more. Interior panting, is acutally something you can do yourself and we will post video on it soon!
Once you know you need to hire a qualified painter to do the work there are a lot of ways to begin looking. Home improvements centers and paint stores are a good place to check. Painters and other contractors will often post their business cards on the bulletin boards provided by these stores. Search the internet for a listing of painters local to your area. These listings can often involve time and money that usually only a professional will bother with.
UT Student Painting has you covered on all of the services we've mentioned
Don’t hire an austin house painter simply because he offers you a cheap deal. Take some time to talk with each painter about what you want done and don’t hire anyone before you get an estimate. Select a few painters to do an onsite inspection of your home. Take this time to discuss their experience within the trade. Can they do wood repair? Have ever done any work with other contractors or homebuilding companies. The fact that someone is being hired by other trade professionals is always a good sign of quality work.
Every painter should provide proof of their state contractor’s license along with up to date insurance policy. It’s important for an Austin painter to have liability insurance in place to protect you and your home from damage. If they have employees that work with them you need to make sure they also have workers compensation insurance. Should a worker be injured while on your property you could be held liable for medical expenses if there is no workers compensation in place. Any painter you consider hiring should be bonded. If he abandons your project for some reason you will be protected and can see that the job is finished.
Follow up on any references provided by the Austin painter but don’t rely on them as your only basis for hiring someone. Having references is always a good idea but remember that are any discontented customers out there, they won’t be on the list. The Better Business Bureau is a better choice when it comes to checking out any contractor. They can tell you if there are any complaints on file and if they were satisfactorily settled. A complaint or two is not unusual but finding out how they were taken care of is very important. A qualified,Austin house painter, who has more than a couple however would be a red flag alert all the way. Likewise with any type of contractor services.
Once you have your short list of painters, you’re ready to ask for some bids. Every house painter austin, approaches the job differently, from the products he uses to the final cleanup process. This can make comparing bids confusing. Even exterior painting work can vary, with one painter doing a pressure wash while another one may choose to scrape and sand. These methods vary in the time and effort involved and it will reflect in the bids you receive. Provide each painter with a detailed list of what you want included in your particular project. By setting some guidelines you should get back some uniform bids that will be much easier to compare. This is the true way to find out the real painting cost.
Once you have selected the painting contractor or handyman you want for your project, you need to put together a contract. Your contract with the painter should outline the project, the steps involved, the type of paint to be used (in all cases a top coat for exterior painting should be done with 100 acrylic latex paint) and the cost of all materials and labor. The contract should also include the painting contractor address, phone number and cell phone as well has his state contractors license and insurance policies copies. Make certain that a time frame for completion of your project is included.
This could not be more crucial when doing a remodel. I don't even like the term remodel. It should be reface or rework or something that seems less Big Project. Most work can be done in a way that no one has to rip out and re-install. Other wise, you wouldn't be here as this is a painting site. So be sure to check out my how to videos on interior painting. My business will survive and you'll see how the pros can
Check with the painting contractor to see if he provides a guarantee if there should be any chipping, peeling or fading within a year or two. Ask to get it in writing to ensure that any such repairs will not be at your expense. The makers of the paint may provide a warranty but that’s not going to cover the cost of labor to have the paint job done over. Our guarantee is standard 5 yr minimume for our spot prime and top coat exterior painting, standard, service plan. Our 10yr warranty for exterior painting comes with a second top coat, after the first top coat has dried.
Hire contractor services you can trust. They will most likely be doing much of the work when you’re not there and it will be impossible to know exactly how thorough they are. When that final coat of paint is on you won’t be able to tell if the surface was primed or if there were two coats of paint or only one. It’s just as important to hire a reliable painter as any other one of the contractor services or handyman and you need to find the best one, suited for your project.
